Our Parish History

Our Lady of Guadalupe Founded in 1970

Monseigneur John A. Lunney was tasked with forming a new parish in West Anchorage. The old Parish (now known as the Lunney Center), was constructed in 1976. Since its founding our parish has grown into a very diverse community with families from different ethnic backgrounds.

Construction for the new Parish

In 2005 the construction of the actual church began, thanks to the parishioners and gracious donors the Church was inaugurated on the 12th of December 2005.

Our Lady of Guadalupe Today

Today, we are the Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe, staffed by Vincentians Fathers.  Our parish continues to be very diverse filled with multicultural communities and events.
